PRESIDENTS CUP WINNING PICTURE

SUMMARY

This was so much better than the Ryder Cup where the USA got clobbered and the NY crowd

who paid $750 per day, was a disgrace.

The Chicago crowd was loud and inspiring and except for 1 idiot on #16 when Scotty was so upset that he conceded a difficult putt to Echaverria to halve the hole.

Cara Banks (whom I like as a golf channel host of golf channel) showed little class by bringing up the incident in a closing interview with Scheffler. he immediately handled it with dignity and the same sportsmanship he showed at the 16th hole.

The 1st day started ok as Scheffler, Thomas and Morikawa won, but Matsuyama and Tom Kim’s team won 2 to keep it close. Tom Kim goes on to be the best player and Matsuyama wins in the first 2nd rounds but his losses in rounds 3 & 4 when the team need his wins.

INT dominates RD2 5-0 and gives hope for their 1st win after 10 losses in a row.

After USA wins a close round 3 they enter RD4 needing to win 8 of 12 matches in singles.

The USA makes an incredible comeback to win Rd4 9 1/2 to 2 1/2 with great putting and clutch shots. Only Tom Kim & Sunjgae Im stepped up for with wins for INT.

Thomas, Koivan, Gotterup and Scheffler won as did Morikawa who came from 2 down and ties on #15 wins #18 over Matsuyama.
