TPC Craig Ranch McKinney TX May 1-4, 2026 Par 721 Purse $10.3M+$400K=4%

HISTORY This is a good tournament. The hospitality Suites are 2nd to none & priced for anyone that wants to make it a special event.

They are as affordable as the Ryder CUP which the PGA charged $750 per day.

Tournament bears the name of Byron Nelson who retired early to settle on his farm in Ft. Worth. In 1945 he won 18 tournaments including 11 in a row, 1 at Llanerch CC in Havertown PA.

A depleted field but competitive field. Only #2 Scottie Scheffler, who won last year, and

#9 Si Woo Kim who plays just about every week. They are the only top 10 players in the field.

FAVORITES Last year Scottie’s got his 1st win, shot 61 RD1 and went wire to wire.

1 Scottie Scheffler 1.65/1 Has had 1st RDs problems this year, needs good start& a win.

2 Si Woo Kim 13/1 Lost to Jason Day in 2023 by 1 stroke when Day birdied 18 to win.

3 Jordan Spieth 15/1 Last year he shot 80 1st RD but was low final RD 62 to finish 4th.

4 Brooks Koepka 22/1 Five top 20’s, 3 missed cuts this year which started at Farmers.

ROUND1

16 Blades Brown-5 66 One bogie 6 birdies, could get his full card this week. 14-18

*16 Scottie Scheffler-5 66 Not the start he needed, but bogie free and still in it. 3-25

*16 Wyndham Clark-5 66 6 birdies, bogie free until last hole, best tournament this year. WINS

47 Jorden Spieth-3 68 Bogie free RD, one of 27 players tied at-3. 19-15

47 Sungjae Im-3 68 six birdies 3 bogies 1 on 18. 9-19

ROUND 2

1 SW Kim-18 60 Twelve birdies until #18 when bogie costs him a 59.

*2 SJ Im-13 61 Two eagles, ace on his 16th hole & on 18 with 1 bogie 7 birdies up 45 spots.

*2 S Scheffler-13 63 Birdies on 5&6 then 1 par, 1 eagle, 4 birdies 9 to 14, pars last 4 holes.

2 W Clark-13 63 Bogie free, birdies 4 of last 7 holes, up 14 spots.

*7 K Mitchell 2nd eagle with chip off green on #15.

*7 J Spieth-12 62 Bogie free, 6 straight birdies from #1 to 6 on his back9. RD3 (73) 5 BOGIES!

*16 B Koepka-10 69 Same threesome as Scheffler&Kim but 2 bogies cost him.

ROUND 3 Clark takes the lead-19 with birdie on #12 while Kim is E with 3 bogies, 3 birdies.

Scheffler has 1st bogie of tournament at #4 but 6 birdies thru 12, birdies 13 to tie for lead-19.

1SW Kim-21 68 After 3 bogies from 8 to 11, birdies 14 &15 for 2 stroke lead.

2 S Scheffler-19 65 Pars last 4 holes to stay in 2nd.

2 W Clark-19 65 One eagle 5 birdies thru 15 but bogie on 17 will knock him out of final RD.

4 S Jaeger-17 64 Low RD with 2nd 64, stats with 3 birdies then 6 more and 2 bogies.

4 S Im-17 67 Two bogies 6 birdies. He is least likely of these 5 to win.

FINAL RD Looks like 5 horse race but I think Scheffler will win.

Turning point was the 12th hole as Clark eagles for lead-26, Kim birdies to tie at, Scheffler just misses a long putt of par-23. Kim & Clark swap lead all day, Scheffler never ha the lead.

1 W Clark-30 60 After #12 Clark plays his best golf since PB 2024 with 4 birdies last 5 holes.

2 SW Kim-27 65 He did not loose it, just could not match Clark last 5 holes.

3 S Scheffler-25 65 Really never threat. Played well but putting is still a problem.

Outplayed by both Clark & Kim. Jaeger 4 RDs in 60’s but 1 DB 4 bogies in tournament.

Summery: Another tournament that is well attended, profitable and raises quite a bit on $

for charity even with a mediocre field. With the PGA attempting to limit the amount of tournaments and attract all the top players in 22 events, this will not work.

My theory is “if its not broken, don’t fix it”. Players should continue to play where they choose, it has worked since 1916. It will be interesting to see the 2027 schedule.

Pictured below is #17 Par 3 Stadium hole

“Ranch17 Boxes on the 17th green” starting at $500 per person. There are also the Nelson Boxes on 18 price at $160,000 for the week and The Choctaw Club priced from $6,000 to $7,500 for full week. Not quite as rowdy as W/M #16.
