BACKGROUND
This is the eighth year for the event to be held in the Bahamas. It is part of the PGA Tour schedule, but an unofficial event. There is a 20 man no cut field. OWGR points are awarded, but no FedX points. The tournament benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation.
It draws some of the best golfers, and shows the respect these men have for Tiger.
Arnie Palmer and his competition with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player resulted in more TV coverage, increased sponsorship, and more interest in professional golf.
Purses increased and Tiger continued this to help bring golf into sports top echelon with football, baseball, basketball, and hockey.
2022 RESULTS
Jon Rahm was the favorite and finished 8th.
Viktor Hovland won at 12/1, and also won in 2021
Scottie Schaffer was 8 to 1 and finished 2nd.
Tiger Woods intended to play but withdrew on Nov 29 due to planter fasciitis in his right foot.
