7 players from last year and 5 new.  I was happy to see Koepka, Fowler & Thomas.  The only change I would have made would have been Keegan Bradley in place of Sam Burns. Golf Channel Damon Hack agrees that Bradley should be on the team.  Golf Channel questions why Bradley, Young, & Glover were passed up for Burns, Fowler, & Thomas.  Burns and Scottie Scheffler are buddies and will probably be paired together often.  Last time USA won in Europe was1993 at The Belfry in England.  Tom Watson was captain, Raymond Floyd & Payne Stewart led US in points with 3 of 4.  This year the performance of Burns, Fowler, and especially Thomas will determine the success or failure of the team, and Zach Johnson’s captains picks.

All 5 new picks replace LIV players.  Europeans picked to lose.  I think they will win led by Hovland, Rahm, Fitzpatrick, McIlroy, Alberg.  The other players won’t count. Aberg finished #40 at Rocket Mortgage and #4 at John Deere and won the DP Masters.  I think he belongs and will be a big contributor in a European win. MacIntyre should have won Scottish Open, Straka won the John Deere. Rose played ok this year but missed the cut at at Us Open & OPEN.  Love him but won’t help.
