Increased by 2 teams from last year.  The field of 164 is the largest of this season.  Cut will be lowest 33 and ties.  RD1&3 Best Ball, RD2&4 alternate shots.  Second string TV commentators tried to make a boring tournament interesting.  It was an impossible task.

Not my favorite format and not the strongest field.  Results only on Monday 4/24/23.

#1 Reily/Hardy-30(record) Reily makes a 33’ putt off the green to take the lead on 17.

This is the first PGA victory for both players.  They each win $1,242,700.

LIV INVENTATIONAL AT THE GRANGE GC, ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA PAR 72 PURSE $25M 

This is LIV’s 4th event of the 2023 season and first outside of North America.  It drew 84,000 energetic fans which was a sellout, compared to an estimated 10,000 per day at the Zurich.

This is not a true indicator, as the Australian fans are hungry for a professional golf tournament and the Zurich is one of the least important events on the PGA Tour.   LIV had a circus like atmosphere which it seems to be promoting.  Also, the format changed so that all foursomes are teams to increase attendance by allowing fans to follow the Aussies.  It seems to be working.  However, I did watch some of the TV coverage on Sunday and it was awful.  Music playing in the background, announcers emphasizing the team standings which I don’t think anyone cares about.  They even did a segment on the name Rangegoats.  Are you kidding me?  Is this professional golf?  Golf is not a team sport with very few exceptions such as Ryder Cup.

#1Taylor Gooch-19 Shot the worst round of the day 73 but won after a pair of 62’s.  Won $4M.  

#3 Cameron Smith-15 $1M #11 Phil Mickelson-12 Best finish since he joined LIV.  $310K.
