Sept 11-14, 2025

HISTORY

The first of 7 official events for the PGA season. Winner will get $1.1M, 500 FedX points, plus 2 year PGA exemption as a member of the PGA Tour. Last years winner Pat Kizzire who has not done much since. So far in 2025 12 missed cuts, 2 withdraws and made only $216K with $81 at his best finish #40 at The Sentry. Sahith Theegala won in 2023 and has not won since. This years field will be much stronger with 10 members of the Ryder Cup team. Only missing will be Brian DeChambeau who was not granted an exemption due to his suspension from the PGA due to his joining LIV.

FAVORITES

1 S Scheffler 2/1 He will want to be at the top of his game to prepare for Ryder Cup.

2 Russel Henley 16/1 Second at Tour Championship but not played well here in past.

3 Justin Thomas 16/1 Seventh at tour Championship, if not Scottie, maybe he wins.

4 Patrick Cantlay 18/1Needs top 10 for Ryder Cup tune up, wont win.

5 Sam Burnes 20/1 If not for his ties with Scottie, probably not on Ryder Cup.

LONG SHOTS

1 Cameron Young 22/1Picked 13th & finished 4th Tour Championship, best long shot.

2 Ben Griffin 25/1 Picked 6th finished 10th tour Championship but same as Young.

3 Max Homa 45/1 Probably will not even be in top 10, but won here in 2021 & 2022.

4 Sahith Theegala 90/1 Has had a bad year but won in 2023, his only win.

5 H Higgs 100/1 Came in 2nd in 2020 behind Stewart Cink, I just want a win for him.

MOST DIFFICULT HOLES

Looks like the front 9 will be the most difficult. Last years winner was Patton Kizzier who almost went wire to wire. #2 after RD 1 the #1 the rest of the way. At 38 was his

1st win in 6 years. He is 250/1 this year and David Lopsky who finished 2nd, is 200/1.

Shows how the present of Ryder Cup players have changed the odds.

One of them should win.

#2 Par 3 240’ Medium length par4 with elevated and bunker protected green.

#3 Par 4 242’ Dogleg with small uphill green.

#5 Par 538’ Elevated and target like green.

#8 Par 4 347 Tee shot over a creek and a hill, severe front to back sloping green.

Picture of 1st difficult hole #2 Par3 240 yards.
