Blog#227 Results Texas Children’s Houston Open March 27-30 2025

Golf Channel commentator reported that the top players will be most interested in competing for the win, and not as a practice RD testing shots in preparation for the Masters. I disagree and it will be interesting to see how the top players approach their rounds. Greens are elevated and many shots run off.

COMMENTARY

After the 1st RD Lee was #5-4 and Scheffler was #13-3, there were 0 favorites in the top 12.

In Rd 2 Scheffler took the lead-11 with a record tying 62 but Woo was only 1 shot behind.

Lee won the tournament in the 3rd RD when he shot 63 to Scheffer’s 69 and had a 5 stroke lead on Scheffler going into the final RD. This held up until hole #14 when Scheffler got his 2nd of 4 straight birdies to pull within 1 with 2 holes to play. However both Scheffler and Lee pars both and Lee gets his first PGA win despite blowing a 5 stroke lead on the last 5 holes.
