HISTORY
The field of 144 players and Scottie Scheffler has won the past 2 years. The first Payers tournament was held at the Atlantic CC in Marietta GA in 1974, Jack Nicklaus won $50,000.
FAVORITES
1 Scottie Scheffler 4/1 Finished 3 & 11 last 2 tournaments, ready to win.
2 R. McIlroy 8/1 Finished 17 & 15 last 2 tournaments, don’t think he can win. 3 C. Morikawa 16/1 Said last weeks failure did not matter, I think it did.
4 X. Schauffele 16/1 Based on his #41 last week he is not ready.
5 L. Aberg 20/1 Last year #8, did to play his best last week.
6 J. Thomas 20/1 Won in 2021, 3 top 10’s this year, may be his time.
7 H Matsuyama 30/1 Another guy if his game is on he could win.
8 T Fleetwood 35/1 Good to see him in top 10, better if gets his 1st PGA win.
9 S Lowry 40/1 Had a good chance at Arnold Palmer, maybe this one.
10 Russell Henley 45/1 Best player last week and won with a great finish.
MY WINNER Even though it seems unlikely for a 3rd straight for Scottie Scheffler, he is my pick. However there are so many top players it is more likely that the winner may be someone who has not won this year, maybe Justin Thomas.
LONG-SHOTS
1 Sepp Srtreka 55/1 Won The American Express in Jan, and playing well.
1 Keegan Bradley 55/1 Last week a good one despite 76 on RD #3, finished 4th-9.
3 Jason Day 65/1 Finished 8th last week shooting 63 on RD2.
3 Cory Comers 65/1 Had a great tournament last week to finish 3rd.
Each of these 4 players played well last week and could have won, maybe this week.
4 Daniel Berger 70/1 Played well at Cognizant but was up and down last week.
5 Jordan Spieth 80/1 Game improving but has to cut down on bogies.
6 Christiaan Bezuidenhout 110/1 Has 0 PGA wins but has been close.

The 17th 137 yard hole is one of the most famous par 3’s on tour along with #7 at Pebble Beach, #12 at The Masters and #16 at The Waste Management. It is an island green and a constant threat for balls in the water, 36 in 2024 and a record 50 on RD 4 in 2017.
