Will Zalatoris ranked #6 at 25/1 withdraws before tournament starts.  

Charlie Hoffman questions the PGA scheduling which he feel has created 

a less challenging field.  The tournament takes place on the North & South 

ROUND 1  

1 Ludvig Aberg-9 63/ 1 eagle 4 birdies front 9, back-3, best RD of career Finish 42+4      

2 Danny Walker-7 65 Bogie free, 1st year on PGA, missed 1st 2 cuts. Finish 9-2

2 Hayden Springer-7 (270/1) 65 One bogie 1 eagle 6 birdies. Finish 6-4

4 Lanto Griffin-6 66 (200/1) Bogie free 6 birdies. Finish 9-2 

18 H Matsuyama-4 68 Two bogies 6 birdies, final RD 76 Finish 32+1

29 Joel Dahmen-3 69 One bogie 3 birdies. Finish 9-2

29 SJ Im-3 69 One bogie 4 birdies. Finish 4-5

100 Harry Higgs+1 73 Three bogies 2 birdies. Finish 63+7

117 Jason Day+2 Two bogies 0 birdies for a poor start, final RD76 Finish 32+1

ROUND 2 Windy 15-20 MPH, gusts up to 35 MPH, conditions difficult.  

Play halted at 5:00PM EST due to high winds, resumed around 6:30 EST, 

38 players did not finish and 9 Withdrew including Max Homa, #146+5 after RD1.

1 L. Aberg-6 75 3 bogies 1st 8 holes, birdie on 13 DB on 14.

1L Griffin-6 72 3 bogies 3 birdies.

3 D Walker-5 74 150/1) After 7 bogies thru 15 he birdies 16 & 18 to stay in it.

4 H Springer-4 75 1 birdie and 1 bogie on front 9 then 2 bogies back 9

7 J Dahmen-3 72 Birdies 4 of 1st 8 holes then 3 bogies 11 to 15

26 J Day-1 69 Two bogies 5 birdies tie for lowest RD of the day. 

Cut+1  Missed Lowry, Jaeger, Rai+3 Finau+5 Eckroat+6 Pavon+9

ROUND 3 Weather back to normal very little wind, hard greens made scoring difficult.

One of the strangest RD 3’s I can remember.  Five newcomers in the top 10.

1 Harris English-9 66 1 bogie 7 birdies to move from #6 & #18 after RD1.

2 Andrew Novack-8 66 Bogie free RD moves from #14.

3 Aldrich Potgieter-7 Shoots 76 in RD 2 to drop to 14 from #4 in RD 1. Finish 15-1

4 Joel Dahmen-5 70 Despite not being overwhelming he has 3 solid RDs.  

4 Lanto Griffin-5 73  DB on #5 and 3 more bogies and he is probably out of it.

8 Ludvig Aberg Starts with 3 bogies on 1st 4, TV commentators felt he was sick.

FINAL RD Another windy day 10-15MPH and another crazy RD. 

This was a tournament that no one seemed be able to win.

Several golfers had a chance to dominate but only English did on his Final RD. 

1 Harris English-8 73 (100/1) Age 35 wins 5th PGA tournament.  His last was

Travelers in 2121, starts with 2 bogies and a birdie thru 6, pars final 13. $1.7M

2 Sam Stevens-7 68 Hung in there with English but bogies #13. $1.0M 

3 Andrew Novack-6 74 Six bogies with 4 birdies. $642K.

4 SJ Im-5 Made a birdie from rough on 10, but not enough to win. $418K

6 Hayden Springer-4 71 An alternate, in contention thru 27 holes. $337K 

9 Danny Walker-2 71 With leaders 1st 2 RDs, 75 RD2, 4 bogies RD4. $226K 

9 Joel Dahmen-2 75 Plays himself out of it RD4 with 7 bogies. $226K

9 Lanto Griffin-2 Tied for the lead after RD 2 but 73&75 Rds 3&4. $226K

32 Jason Day+1 76 Made a run with lost RD2, but faded in RDs3&4. $52K 

42 Ludvig Aberg+3 79 Looked like winner after RD 1 but then 3RDs+74 $34K
