History
This is the last tournament of this years regular season. The Fall season starts with
The Fortinet Championship at Napa CA. It will also include the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal, Quebec, Canada, September 24-29.
East Lake has been the host since 2004. The property was owned by the Atlantic Athletic Club and was sold to a group of Atlanta businessmen in 1968.
Instead of my usual format I will be showing all 30 participants and some statistics from the previous 2 tournaments. SJF indicates their finishes at the 1st tournament, St Jude Championship. The BMWF stands for their finishes at the 2nd tournament. HC means the strokes awarded according to their Fed X points. These stats are shown on the blog page.
With at least a 1 stroke lead over the last 25 players, it has to be one of the top 5. Matsuyama has back issues, Bradley just won, and Aberg’s lead is only 1. Scheffler and Schauffele have 6 and 4 strokes. With that advantage it should be one of them. Scottie had the same advantage last year and could not get it done, and he has not played his best golf in the last 2 weeks. Xander has and he is my winner.
