Blog #144  RESULTS CANADIAN OPEN May 30-June 2, 2024

HISTORY Hamilton GC is about 1 1/2 hours south of Toronto and is hosting for the 7th time.  Rory won here in 2019 & 2022.  Last years winner Nick Taylor-17 became the first Canadian since 1954 to win by making a 72’ putt in a playoff with Tommy Fleetwood.

Par 70, purse $9.4M up $400K 4%.  The tournament started in 1904 and this is its #112th.  It 3rd as a continuously running tournaments after THE OPEN  and THE US OPEN.

Arnold Palmer won his first PGA event here in 1955.  There will be a field of 156 with 28 Canadians playing.  As a National open this event had special status before the professional tour system started.  This year it comes before the Signature Memorial followed by US Open and the last signature event Travelers Championship resulting in a weak field.
