HISTORY

Tournament started in 1963 won by Arnold Palmer.  Harbor Town is public course and has hosted the tournament every year.  Last year Jordan Spieth attempted to repeat but was defeated on the 3rd hole of a playoff hole by Matt Fitzpatrick.

FAVORITES

1 Scottie Scheffler 4/1 Due for a letdown after this past month’s success will be in top 5. 

2 Xander Schauffele 9/1 Played well at Masters, I think and hope he will win.

3 Rory McIlroy 11/1 I think he needs some time off.  Just did not have it again at Masters.

4 Ludvig Aberg 12/1 Usually in the hunt must to cut down on self inflicted mistakes.

5 Patrick Cantlay 16/1 Played better at Masters but game is still not good enough to win.

6 Collin Morikawa 18/1 Last 2 years never a bride always a bridesmaid, must improve putting.

7 Max Homa 20/1 I thought he could catch Scotties last week, DB on 12 killed him.

8 Matt Fitzpatrick 22/1 Very difficult to repeat and he has not shown ability to finish.

9 Will Zalatoris 25/1 Seems to be 100% after back injury last year, will win sometime this year.

10 Wyndham Clark 28/1 Missed cut badly at Masters but if his putter is on watch out.

LONGSHOTS

11Jordan Spieth 30/1 Probably the best longshot but has to stop the bogies and worse.

12 Sahith Theegala 35/1 Seems to foul up at least 1 RD, if he puts 4 together he may win.

13 Tom Kim 60/1 +11 in Rds 2&3 at Masters, his 66 was the low final RD, time to snap out of it.

14 Akshay Bhatia 70/1 Proved he could win with outstanding putting at Valero.

15 Sunjae Im 75/1 Missed cut at Masters by 1, has 2 wins and close many times, he is due. 

16 Denny McCarthy 80/1 Chased down Bhatia at Valero only to blow playoff in the water.

17 Rickie Fowler 110/1 I don’t see him winning but he made the cut and won par 3 at Masters.

18 Brandon Todd120/1 He sneaks into the top 5 more often than you think.

PREDICTIONS

Schauffele, Aberg or Homa should win.  7 of these 18 should make the top 10.
