#104 RESULTS SONY OPEN 2024 WAIALAE COUNTRY HONOLULU HAWAII

ROUND 1 Swirling and gusty winds 24 to 30 MPH in the PM caused high scoring.

#1 Cam Davis-8 (#18 50/1) 62 Probably his best RD in a long time, birdied 5 of last 6 holes.

#2 Taylor Montgomery-6 64 (#41 11/1) 3 bogies, 9 birdies, 6 pars.

#3 Aaron Rai-5 65 (#26 75/1) 3 bogies, 8 birdies, 7 pars.

#3 Stephan Jaeger-5 65 (#25 75/1)  1 bogie, 6 birdies, 11 pars.

#3 Webb Simpson-5 65 (#56 140/1) 1 bogie, 1 eagle, 4 birdies, 12 pars.

#7 Chris Kirk-4 66 Only player among favorites and longshots in top 10.

Eight others tied for 7th at-4 66.

#16 Keegan Bradley-3 67 3 bogies, 6 birdies, 9 pars.

#47 Brian Harmon-1 69, Russle Henley, Akshay Bhatia, Si Woo Kim & Matt Fitzpatrick.

#67 Tyrrell Hatton E 70, Ludvig Aberg & Corey Conners.

#107 Sahith Theegala+2 5 bogies, 1eagle, 1 birdie, his worse RD in a long time.

ROUND 2 Round 1 was not very entertaining.  The few big names did not play well.

Another windy day17MPH.  Not as bad as yesterday

#1 Ben An-9 64 Up from #16, bogie free with 6 birdies, looking for 1st win.

#1 Carl Yuan-9 65 also from #16, 1 bogie, 6 birdies, only player from China on tour.

#1 Austin Ecdkroat-9 66 One bogie, 5 birdies

#4 Ben Griffin-8 62 up from #62 lowest RD of day with 1 eagle, 7 birdies, 1 bogie.

#4 Kurk Kitayama-8 62 same stats as Griffin except 1 eagle, 6 birdies, bogie free.

#4 Kris Kirk-8 66 remains only player of 11 favorites and long shots in top 10.

#4 Stewart Cink-8 65 At 50 still playing well.

#4 6 others at #4, Cam Davis, Montgomery, Jaeger, Pavon, , Mitchell, Murray.

CUT-2 Theegala-, Glover, Hadwin-1, Fitzpatrick-E, Kucher+1, Zalatoris+5

ROUND 3 Round 2 similar to RD1.  Big names not a factor.  An is looking for his first tour win in 3 years and Kirk is looking for his 2nd straight win.  They have the best chance.  I don’t think Griffin and Kitayama, who shot lowest scores, or Yuan tied for 1 will play well enough to win.

#1  Keegan Bradley-14 63 One of 3 players to shoot 63.  Would love to see him win.

8 birdies with 1 bogie.  If he wins it will give more credibility to tournament.

#1 Grayson Murray-14 64 On Korn Ferry Tour OWGR 132, odds 400/1 #118 of 144.

#3 Sam Stevens-13 63 Tied for lowest RD, OWGR 131, odds 350/1 #107 of 144 $2.3M in 2023

#4 Chris Kirk started with 2 bogies, Ben An 4 bogies in RD, and 3 others.

#50 Ludvig Aberg-5 70 Disappointing showing for 2nd week, 1 DB, 7 bogies for his 3 RDs.

FINAL ROUND Three different leaders in each RD, Murray becomes 4th.  His first win since 2017.  A good finish to a boring tournament with a lot of no names.  Other than Bradley and Kirk no one of interest on leaderboard.  I am hoping the next 2 tournaments have more of the top players involved.

G Murray-17 67Had a birdie 39’ putt on 18 and won his first event since 2017 in a playoff$1.5M
BH An-17 64He just missed a 10’ foot birdie putt on 18 and lost in the playoff$739K
K Bradley-17Disappointed that he parred the last 3 holes.  One birdie and he wins.$739K
Chris Kirk-11 70Four bogies in his final RD, was tied with An after 3rd RD$106K
L. Aberg-9 66He was favored in both Hawaii tournaments, finished 47 & 30 $45K
