ROUND 1 Perfect weather conditions, dry, little wind.  Only 2 of 59 players +par.

#1 Sahith Theegala-9 64 Six straight birdies before a bogie on 16 then a birdie on 18.

#2 Colin Morikawa-8 65 Six birdies, 1 eagle also birdies 18.

#2 Jason Day-8 65 One eagle, 7 birdies, 1 bogie.  31 on back 9

#2 Viktor Hovland-8 65 Nine birdies, 1 bogie.  TB on 14 on RD3, finishes 22nd.

#7 Jordan Spieth-7 66 DB on #3 then 9 birdies and 3 pars on last 14 holes.

#7 Scottie Scheffler-7 66 Seven birdies, bogie free RD.  

#25 Ludvig Aberg-4 69 Five birdies, 1 bogie, 77 on 3rd RD, finishes 47th. 

ROUND 2 Same weather produced low scores, no player over par.  Last year Scheffler would shoot 1 bad RD with poor putting.  It happens on the RD3. 

#1 Scottie Scheffler-16 64 Started with bogie on #2, then -10 last 14 holes

#2 Tyrrell Hatton-15 62 Lowest RD of day, but 72 on RD3, finishes 14th.

#5 Bygone Hun An-14 64 Bogie free RD, he moves from 19th place.

#5 Chris Kirk-14 65 Bogie free RD with 8 birdies to move from 12th place.

#5 Colin Morikawa-14 67 Bogie free RD, Ties for 5th.

#9 Akshay Bhatia-13 64 Stays in contention with excellent putting.

#9 Jordan Spieth-13 67 Bogie free with 6 birdies, still drops 2 spots.

#9 Sahith Theegala-13 69 Bogies #17 with 5 birdies, not enough to stay with Scheffler.

ROUND 3 15 to 20 MPH winds cause scores to be higher than first 2 RDs. 

The Split Tee format was used, so 1/2 the field started at 10, others at 1.

#1 Chris Kirk-18 66 Third player to lead, 8 birdies on last 14 holes including 18 to take lead.

#2 Akshay Bhatia-18 66 Bogie free RD.  RD 4 DB on 1, finishes 14th.

#3 Xander Schauffele-19 65 Bogied #1 then 9 birdies, goes from #20 to #3  Ties for 10th.

#3 Jordan Spieth-19 67 Bogie free RD, birdied 3 of last 5 holes.

#3 Byeong Hun An-19 One bogie, 6 birdies including 18 to stay in hunt.

#6 Jason Day-18 67 One bogie, 7 birdies to follow so/so 69 in RD 2.  Ties for 10th.

#6 Sahith Theegala-18 68 Finished strong with 4 birdies on last 7 holes to stay in contention.

#6 Scottie Scheffler-18 71 Bogies on 7 & 8 for his one mediocre RD, putting again an issue.

FINAL ROUND Wind not a factor.  Kirk played 4 sub par RDs 67,65,66,65 and deserved the win.  His approach shot on 17 to within 2’ of the hole broke a tie with Theegala for the win.

He finished 2023 among the top 50 so the win has no effect on his 2024 schedule.

Vincent Norman finished last #59-6 286 but made $50K.

Ben An-26 63	Two bogies on RD.  Still looking for first PGA win.	$975K
S. Scheffler-26 66 +4	Again, poor putting on RD3 cost him again	$691K
