ROUND 1  Weather sunny in the 60s.  Probably the best of the week.

#1 Christo Lamprecht(A)-5 66 Qualified as 2023 Amateur Champion

#1 Tommy Fleetwood-5 66 He grew up 5 miles north.  This is his first OPEN at Liverpool.

#1 Emiliano Grillo-5 66 Bogied 2 of his first 3 holes followed with 7 birdies.

#4 Brian Harmon-4 67(175/1) He has been playing very good golf and is #26 WOGR.

#3 Antoine Rozner-4 67(150/1) OWGR 139, plays on several tours only $138K career earnings.

#4 Adrian Otaegui-4 67(250/1) OWGR 92, never heard of him, he must do well on the DP tour.

#7 Stewart Cink(500/1)-3 68 Bogie free RD.  Boggie free RD, don’t think keep it up.

#7 Wyndham Clark(50/1)-3 68/ 4 birdies on back 9.  Maybe this guy is for real. 

#6 Jordan Spieth-2 69 His best RD in some the, but a DB and a bogie to go with 5 birdies.

#6 Mathew Jordan(350/1)-2 69 OWGR 322, plays on DP Tour and member of Royal Liverpool.

#13 Scottier Scheffler, Hideki Matsuyama, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Cantlay, Patrick Reed-1 70.

#32 Rory McIlroy E 71/ 3 bogies, 3 birdies.  Not the start I expected, but lots of golf left. 

#47 Cameron Smith+1 72/ 5 bogies with 4 birdies. He can get hot,    “     “     “   “     “

# 47 Rickie Fowler+1 72 Drops from #5 by hitting out of bounds twice on 18.

#89 John Rahm+3 4 bogies vs d1 birdie.  He has played too much golf may be worn out.  

#89 Dustin Johnson+3 74/ 1 DB, 3 bogies.  Big winner on LIV but his major days may be over. 

#89 Robert MacIntyre+3 74 Hangover from last week.  1DB 2 bogies, I birdie back 9.

#130 Tiger Christensen+6 77 UnTiger like 3DB’s & 3 bogies.  

#130 John Daly+6 77/ 7 bogies won’t make the cut.  At least he can still compete.

ROUND 2 Another sunny but windy day, 20 MPH.  Brian Harmon birdies 4 of the first 5 holes pars with no birdies or bogies until an eagle on 18.   

#1 Brian Harmon-10 65 He and Fleetwood have the most top 10’s and not won.

#2 Tommy Fleetwood-5 71 Made some clutch approach shots and putts to play in final group.

#3 Sepp Straka-4 He birdies 6 of the last 7 holes to move from 32 to 3rd. 

#4 Min Woo Lee-3 68 After bogies on 2 of first 3 holes he then shoots -5 and goes from 32 t0 4

#4 Jason Day-3/ 2 bogies, 6 birdies tome from 48 to 4th.

#7 Jorden Spieth-2/ 3 bogies on back 9 or he is tied for 2nd.  

#12 Rory McIlroy-1 70 & 12 others-1

#146 John Daly+12 77 At least he was consistent. 

#147 Dustin Johnson +10 81/ 2 DBs, 6 bogies 0 birdies, total +13.  Only 9 players worse.
