ROUND 3 Rory tied for lead. I hope he can pull this off and shut Mickelson up.
#1 Rory McIlroy-6 70 Not a great RD, 4 birdies, 2 bogies.
#1 Si Woo Kim-6 71/ 2DBs. He will fade.
#1 David Lipsky-6 70 Bogies 17& 18 to lose lead. He is done.
#5 Denny McCarthy-5 68 Two eagles on 7 & 15 and goes up 17 spots.
#5 Viktor Hovland-5 69 Finishes strong 3 birdies 15, 16 & 17.
#9 Keegan Bradley-4 65 Shoots low RD of the week, and goes up 52 spots.
#9 Colin Morikawa-4 68 8 birdies, 4 bogies, but he birdies 17 & 18.
#9 Patrick Cantlay-4 74 DB on #6 or he is tied for lead.
#14 Justin Suh-3 77/+4 on first 3 holes. Falls into a tie for 14th.
#14 Jordan Spieth-3 72/ 2 bogies 2 pars. His game is still not there.
#23 Rickie Fowler-2/ 4 bogies on 4 of 5 last holes or he is tied for lead.
#23 Jon Rahm-2 74/ 3 bogies, 1 birdie. Not his week.
#35 Scottie Scheffler-1 68/ 5 birdies, 3 straight on 13,14 & 15, but #18 got him for a bogie.
FINAL ROUND 42 players within 6 shots of the lead. Did you see the crowd on 18, in the thousands, always a great scene! See picture below.
#1 Viktor Hovland-7 70 He birdies 15 & 17 to make up 3 strokes and force a playoff, then he birdies the 1st playoff hole #18 for the win. For the 4 RDs he made 3 birdies, 1 bogie, and 8 pars on the final 3 holes.
#2 Danny McCarthy-7 70 He misses a 23’ putt on 18, for his 1st bogie & a playoff. You must keep it in the fairway on 18 or it is a likely bogie.
#3 Scottie Scheffler-6 67 In the 4 RDs he made 5 bogies on the last 3 holes. In his last 4 tournaments he has finished:
3rd in the Memorial, 3rd in the Charles Schwab, 2nd in the PGA, 5th in the Byron Nelson. Watch out US Open!
#7 Rory McIlroy-3 75 Again too many bogies (7), the last one he misses a 5’ putt on 17.
