AT&T BYRON NELSON RESULTS

                 RESULTS AT&T BYRON NELSON CHAMPIONSHIP MAY 11 TO 14, 2023           

Twins Pierceson & Parker Coody are rookies who played their first PGA event in February at the Honda Classic.  See pages 15(31 & 16(31) of part 1.

FIRST ROUND 

#1 SY Noh-11 60 31 year old from S.. Korea.  Turned pro in 2008 OWGR 536.

He had a great RD 1 eagle 9 birdies, 4 of last 5 holes, no bogies.

#2  Adam Scott-8 63 Zecheng Dou-8 63 26 year old. Bogies 1st hole then 9 birdies. 

#4 Jason Day-7 64 One of the favorite.   I would love to see him win.  7 birdies no bogies.

#4 Scottie Scheffler-7 64 Crazy RD.  Started -6 for 1st 6 holes then 3 bogies in the next 7.

#4 Luke List, Richy Werenski, Scott Piercy, Ryan Palmer,-7 64.  No chance for these guys.                  

#46 Pierceson Coody-3 #64 Parker Coody-2

SECOND ROUND Scottie birdies the first 2 holes.  Jason Day 4 birdies but 2 bogies. 

#1 Scheffler-14 64 As predicted, 8 birdies 1 bogie.  He should win going away!!

#2 M. Hughes-13 64 7 birdies 0 bogies,

#2 Ryan Palmer-13 65, they both will fade.

#4 Si Woo Kim-11 66 Moves up from #7 always plays well but its Scottie’s tournament.

$5 Richy Werenski-10 Two bogie free RDs but he will fade.

#6 Jason Day-9 3 birdies but 2 bogies.  Playing well but can he win again?

7 others including Matsuyama 67 & Dou 70.  

#14 Noh shoots par to drop to tie with 11 others for 14.

#32 Parker Coody Not as good a as brother and bogied 16 &17, but birdied 18.  

Two bogies cost him a tie for 13th.  He should make some money.

CUT-4

Pierceson Coody+1 75 not good enough & Harry Higgs 74 love the guy but he just seems to always be mediocre.  Nobody else worth mentioning.

THIRD ROUND Late tee times starting at 10:00 AM in groups of 3 from tees 1 & 10.

Trying to avoid expected bad weather.  Scheffler, Palmer, Hughes at 12:15 on10th tee.

#1 Dou-16 64 He has 7 birdies 0 bogies.  Is he for real?

#1 Austin Eckroat-16 63 Shoots 31 with 7 birdies and a BD on front 9. 

#1 Palmer-16 68, he will fade. 

#4 Day-14 66 Six birdies but 1 bogie which usually kills him.

#4 Scheffer-14 bogies 71-14. Two bogies, one on 18.

 27 of 84 32% players including Scheffler shot 70+.  68% including leaders shot under 70.

FINAL ROUND Eckroat birdies 2 of 1st 3/Day birdies 3 of 1st 6/Scheffler birdies 3 of 1st 7

Pan birdies 5 of 1st 8/Dou birdies 3 of 1st 5,/Jaeger birdies 6 of 1st 12.  Great start!

Jason Day takes lead at-20 with his 6th birdie chipping from off the green on 12th hole.

Scheffler birdies 14-20 to tie.  Day birdies 14 & 15 to go +2, then 18 to win.  No bogies!!!

So glad he is back on the winning track.  He deserved to win!!!!

#1 Jason Day-23 62 261 $1,710,000 9 birdies 0 bogies.  Birdied 18 all 4 RDs.

#2 Austin Eckroat-22 65 262 $845,500  Bogie free RD4.  A pleasant surprise at 24.

#2 Si Woo Kim-22 63 262 $845,500 Bogie free Rd4.  A very dangerous man. 

#4 CT Pan-21 62 263 $465,500 His eagle on 18 almost forced playoff.
#5 Scottie Scheffler-20  65 264 $351,500 Par RD3 killed him.  Bogie free RD 4.

#5 Zecheng Dow-20 67 264 $351,500 DB on 8 & bogie on 12 cost him #1.

#5 Tyrrell Hatton-20 64 264 $351,500 This Englishman seems to always be in the hunt.

#11 Stephen Jaeger-18 286 $220,875 German has not yet won on the PGA Tour.

#64 Parker Coody-10 64 274 $20,425 Nice RD4 to earn some nice $ for a rookie.
