AT&T BYRON NELSON 2023

AT&T BYRON NELSON  TOURNAMENT

TPC CRAIG RANCH MCKINNEY TX

May 11-14, 2023 PAR 72

PURSE $9.5M+$400K=4%

Tournament will host a full field of 156 players.  Only 6 of the world’s top 30 players will be participating this week, as it is a week before the PGA Championship.  The tournament has always been well attended and draws between 35,000 and 45,000 per day.

ODDS FROM DRAFTKINGS Other than Jason Day, I think 1 of these 4 will win.

Scottie Scheffler 4.5/1 He should win by 3 or more strokes.

Jordan Spieth 9/1 He has been so inconsistent, I can’t see him winning.

Tyrrell Hatton 14/1 He may sneak in.  Without a few mistakes, he had a chance at Wells Fargo, although Wyndham Clark seemed unbeatable.

Jason Day 16/1 I don’t think he’s healthy enough to win.  I hope I am wrong I really like the guy.

Tom Kim 18/1 This guy is soooo overdue.  He will win one of these weeks.

KH Lee 22/1 Has won the last 2 years.  Getting #3 in a row will be tough.

LONG SHOTS

Matt Kucher 30/1 At 44 still competes well on PGA TOUR.

Hideki Matsuyama 22/1 I don’t think he is healthy.

Adam Scott 30/1 Like Kucher, at 42 he is still very competitive on the tour.

Taylor Montgomery 35/1 He has shown lots of potential but no wins in 23 events.  He has won $2.6M this year and has 4 top 10 finishes.  He missed the cut last week.  Don’t bet this one.

Si Woo Kim 35/1 Plays every week and is usually among the top 10.

I don’t think any of these 5 will win and I doubt if it could be anyone else in this field. However if someone would catch lightning in a bottle like Clark last week, who knows.

The new Stadium hole on #17 is called “TPC Craig Ranch”.  It will have 41 new hospitality units bringing the total to 145 units along the hole.  Each Suite includes access to a dinning area and each have a 200 sq. foot patio for viewing the 17th hole.  There will also be new bleachers behind the green, and the entire area will hold 6,000 fans. This tournament always has a party atmosphere and has great facilities.
