Harbor Town is a public course, par is 71, and this is its 55th year. The field of 132 includes 3 members of the Champions Tour: Ernie Els 1000/1, Jim Furyk 600/1, and Davis Love III playing for the 33rd time with 5 wins, and is the Honorary Chairman. By not playing this event, Rory McIlroy stands to loose $3M since this will be the 2nd designated event that he has missed. The first was The Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, January 5th which had an increased purse of $15M.
