      ARNOLD PALMER INVITATIONAL BAY HILL ORLANDO FL. RESULTS MAR 5, 2023 

Bay Hill is a public course but does have members.  You must be a guest of the lodge or be accompanied by a member  to play the course.  Capacity is 20,000 fans per day.

ROUND 1 & ODDS POST 1ST – Wind calm, Kirk birdies 5 of 1st 7 holes for lead after morning session.  Rahm birdied first 3 holes then was 4 under in last 3 holes.

#1 Rahm-7 65 On 16 made a 24’ putt for eagle, 17 tee shot within 1’ of hole, birdied 18.     9/1

#2 Kirk-5 67 Continues excellent play from last week, 7 birdies 2 bogeys.                            22/1

#2 Kitayama-5 67Had a chance for sole possession of 2nd place but bogies last hole.         9/1

#2 Cameron Young-5 67 May get his first win.  11 eagle, 5 birdies, 2 bogeys.     12/1

#5 Cantlay,(7/1) Scheffler, Spieth(22/1), Fowler(28/1), Schauffele(11/1)-4. 

#12 Homa, Finau-3 69 #18 Fitzpatrick, 9 #45 J.Thomas, E.Cole E+1, #48 McIlroy & Zalatoris+2. 

ROUND 2  & ODDS POST 2ND -Strong winds, scores higher, but most players still played well.   Justin Thomas was set for the best round of the day at 65, but bogies the last 2 holes for 67.  Conners 66 best round.  Cameron Young 73, Jon Rahm 76,Chris Kirk 75 had tough days.

#2 Spieth-7 69 5 birdies 2 bogies.  Bogies 18 missing a very long putt by inches. 7/1

#3 Connors-6 66 Lowest round of day to move from #47 to #2. 14/1

#3 Schauffele-6 3 birdies 1 Boogie second sub par round. 6.5/1

#5 Cantlay-1, Fitzpatrick-3, Riley-3, Thomas-5. 10/1

#17 Rahm-3 T13/76 Double bogies #5, 4 bogies 1 birdie for a +4 round. 11/1

ROUND 3 & ODDS POST 3RD – John Rahm shoots 76 for 2nd straight day.  Tom Kim slips.

#1  Kurt Kitayama-9 72 Lost 2 shot lead with DB on 4, but 2 birdies on last 2 holes to lead 6/1

#2 Scottie Scheffler-8 68 Finished with 3 birdies to tie for 2nd.     2/1

#2 Viktor Hovland-8 66 Second in last years tournament, bogie Fred round.     4/1

#4 Tyrell Hatton-7 66 6 brides 0 bogies to go from 32 to 2nd     8/1

#5 Rory McIlroy 68-5 Played well enough.        7/1

#5 P. Coody-5 66  He and Hatton low round of day, goes from #53 to #5 100/1

#5 Jordan Spieth 74-5 Did not putt great +2.               30/1

FINAL ROUND Davis Riley bounces back from 77 in RD 3 for 66 (best RD). Spieth birdies 4 of first 6 holes and was putting extremely well until end, he missed 3 makable putts at 14,15, 17 for bogies which cost him tournament.  From 16 to 18 Five players were tied for lead at -8, English, McIlroy, Kitayama, Hatton, Scheffler.  Kitayama sinks 20’ putt on 17-9
