GENESIS INVITATIONAL THE RIVIERA COUNTRY CLUB RESULTS
FEBRUARY 23 TO 26
The tournament started in 1926 as The Los Angeles Open. Riviera first played host in 1929 and has hosted it 59 times. It is one of only 5 PGA events with “invitational” stats along with Arnold Palmer, RBC Heritage, Charles Schwab and The Memorial. Last year Joaquin Niemann became one of 4 players to lead wire to wire. He was on his way to finishing -21 for a course record but bogied 14 & 15 and finished -19. Also it is one of the courses named “Hogans Ally” because he played it so well. He won this tournament in 1947 & 1948 and the 1947 US Open.
